Rollers are important components of belt conveyors, with a wide variety and large quantity. It accounts for 35% of the total cost of a belt conveyor and bears more than 70% of the resistance, so the quality of the rollers is particularly important. The function of the idler is to support the weight of the conveyor belt and materials. The operation of the roller must be flexible and reliable. Reducing the friction between the conveyor belt and the idler roller plays a crucial role in the lifespan of the conveyor belt, which accounts for over 25% of the total cost of the conveyor. Although the idler roller is a small component in a belt conveyor and its structure is not complex, manufacturing high-quality idlers is not an easy task.
The structure of the transition roller is mainly composed of the roller tube body, roller shaft, bearings, bearing seats, seals and other main components that are assembled and combined through a series of processes. Adopting internal and external labyrinth seals, it has good dustproof and waterproof performance.

The transition roller group is arranged between the end drum and the ordinary groove roller group to reduce the stress at the edge of the conveyor belt and avoid material scattering. Divided into four types based on slot angle: 10 °, 20 °, 30 °, and variable slot angle.

Characteristics of transition rollers:

  1. The environment temperature can operate normally between -10 ℃ and 40 ℃;
  2. Normal service life of the roller: over 50000 hours;
  3. The resistance coefficient of the roller rotation is less than 3.0N;
  4. Radial runout of the outer circle of the roller: below 1.0mm;
  5. Axial displacement of the roller: 0.5mm;
  6. The roller can be used in coal dust, water spraying, and humid environments, and has the characteristics of dust prevention, waterproofing, and corrosion resistance;
  7. Axial bearing capacity of the roller: 10000N;
  8. Roller drop test: After a drop height of 50cm, the roller parts and welds did not show any damage or cracks, and the rotation was flexible;
  9. Roller bearing seal: non-contact, three groove labyrinth seal structure;
  10. Roller bearings: KA series roller bearings are used, which comply with the series specified in MT/655-1997;
  11. Roller body: High frequency welded pipe specially designed for rollers is formed in one go;
  12. Stamped bearing seat, with fixed base lubricating grease inside the bearing. The stamped bearing seat is made of special stamped steel, and carbon dioxide gas shielded welding is used between the stamped bearing seat and the roller body, with physical properties greater than HT150;
  13. Roller shaft: Made of 45 steel material, with mechanical and physical properties greater than Q235-A steel.
